Arrival, Dismissal & Pick-Up Policies

Arrivals and Departures

Arrival time is 8:30. Please do not arrive any earlier, as your teachers need this time to set-up the classrooms and the Early Morning Drop-Off Program is in-session.  If you need to incorporate an early drop-off into your schedule you must first check with the Director to see if there is space and if space allows you will be charged a daily fee or an increase in tuition for this service.

Timely drop-off and pick-up help to alleviate confusion and aids a smooth transition. Dismissal is at 12:30 PM for morning sessions and at 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM, or 4:30 PM for the afternoon groups.  At dismissal time, once parents/guardians have checked out with the teaching staff, children are then the parent's/guardian’s responsibility. It is very important that parents remember that once they arrive at the Bennington Early Childhood Center, children and their families must follow the Center policies.

Any person picking up a child must be listed on the child’s emergency form as an authorized pick-up person or be named in a written and dated message from the parent. Anyone arriving to pick-up a child who is not known to the Center staff will be asked to provide an ID before children will be released into his/her care.  We will not release children to unauthorized adults.  If someone other than an authorized pick-up person will be picking up the child (including parents of other students, etc.), the Center needs written authorization from a parent or guardian.

Please check cubbies for paintings, lost clothes, and other treasures regularly. This is not only for the benefit of your child, but also as a help in keeping the Bennington Early Childhood Center clean. Bedding provided from home for naptime should be exchanged weekly for washing.

Late Pick-up fees

If you will be unavoidably delayed in picking up your child, please call the Center (802-447-1093) or send a Brightwheel message.  This helps us to soothe an anxious child if we know the reason for, and the probable extent of, the lateness. We assume this will rarely happen. Repeated lateness will be charged a flat fee of $10.00 (ten dollars) every 15 minutes. We cannot stress enough the importance of promptness and the cost to the Center program for a staff member staying beyond his/her scheduled time.
